Metrofood Innovation @ Detroit Coalition Building Workshop
November 11-12, 2012 | Novi, Michigan
The 2012 MetroFood Innovation Workshop in Novi was a two-day summit to foster cooperation between many groups with a vested interested in urban agriculture innovations.
The objective for day one was to co-create some common ground with all participants and by doing so create joint ownership for the MetroFoodPlusInnovation Cluster @ Detroit. Using different working methods, the participants were stimulated to express their personal drivers and thus give some insight in the issues at hand. Discussions between the participants were stimulated to identify some of the process needs that have to be dealt with for cooperation and co-creation to occur.
The original objective for day two was to co-create an action plan together with all participants. However, the formulation of the collective mission statement, the strategy and the underlying  values took most of the available time. By asking all participants to individually formulate the three priorities that needed to be delivered by the MetroFood Innovation Initiative, the building blocks for the mission and strategy were collected. Discussing them in groups of three and groups of six consecutively further condensed these building blocks.
